New Ghost Rider Vid.

Recently this short FX clip was released of Ghost Rider from the upcoming movie of the same name. This clip gives us a little more fluid movement and CGI. This could be a very interesting movie, and with Nic Cage's star power behind it it should get some decent press coverage. You can view this clip in Quicktime format here (thanks to Superherohype). To see the first reveal of GR look to one of my past Ghost Rider posts for the link.

What the .......??????

What the heck is going on with Pamela Anderson in this picture. She looks like an over-exaggerated cartoon character (at least more than usual). She better tie herself off to that fence behind her so she doesn't fall over. That white shirt must be made of some new super-strong NASA fabric to keep from flying off.

New Spider-Man 3 Pic.

This new picture of Spidey was just released to the press over the past couple days. At first I thought that this was a black & white picture, but according to sources Spidey wears a black costume in the new movie at some point. This could really support the story if they try to link the Venom character to Spideys black costume in some way. It will be interesting to see how they handle Venom. There are two ways , if they want to stay loyal to the comic, that they could do. The old alien costume way that I cannot see being used, or the bio-suit way that was used in the Ultimate Spider-Man stories. The 2nd seems the most likely.

New X3 One-Sheets.

20th Century Fox has released some pics of 6 new one sheet "bus stop" posters for the upcoming X-Men 3 : The Last Stand movie. These new posters are excellent shots of some of the key characters including new entries Angel and Beast, and Phoenix in her new red duds.

The studio will be giving away copies of the huge 4' x 6' posters at this weekends WonderCon in San Francisco. On Saturday tickets will be given out in the registration lines before 10:00am. Later in the day during the Fox presentation, the winning numbers will be drawn and 500 posters will be given out. The only downside is that you do not get to choose your poster, they are given out at random. Good luck to anyone who is attending.

My Newest Toy.

It had to happen sooner or later. I finally tracked down a XBOX 360 (by accident) at the local Wal-Mart and forked out my $500 + hard earned dollars to bring it home. The system itself was $399.99, and then I added 3 games, and extra controller and a plug-and-Play charger. The games I had picked up are Dead or Alive 4, Quake 4 and Call Of Duty 2. The setup was as simple as could be and the transfer of my Live account to the new system was only a few button clicks.

I have to admit that I was not totally blown away by the advancement of the system. The new dashboard is very cool and easy to navigate and the ability to have multiply profiles on the same system is defiantly a plus when my son wants to play also. The game graphics where better than the normal Xbox, but not a great quantum leap forward. Now don't get me, I am very happy with the system and I am happy that I purchased it. The games, as always are totally addicting and I have had great fun with DOA4 and COD2. I have already completed COD2 and am now trying to beat the game again on the highest setting of difficulty. I have yet to open my Quake 4 game, but soon. Another nice thing on the system is the intergrated Live Arcade that lets you download and play some great classic games and new puzzle game. I am totally hooked on Geometry Wars Evolved and Hextic HD. I only have a measly gamer score of about 550 right now, but it should be raised up soon as I play more games.

My son has really been enjoying the Xbox with me, even though at this point he is not allowed to play it without me, also no game playing on school nights. I have to admit that we are both spoiled rotten (or so my wife says) because we now have just about every game system in existence, from the old Atari 2600 to Xbox 360 and everything in between.

My next purchase now will be a good HDTV to take full advantage of the systems power.

Return of the Nightstalker !

ABC received many mad emails when it cancelled the show Nightstalker after only 7 episodes. The show was a re-make of the original Kolchak The Nightstalker series and was a very intelligent well done show.

Fans should be happy to hear that the Sci-Fi channel has made a agreement with ABC to air the entire series on their channel starting in the summer in the 7/6c time spot, right before Star Gate. They will show all 10 episodes, 3 of which never aired on ABC. At this time there are no plans to make new episodes, but a good viewership could change their minds.

If you can't wait for the Sci-Fi showings, you can download the entire series from i-tunes for $1.99 an episode. They also have the 3 unaired episodes there. They are Into Night, Timeless and What's The Frequency Kolchak.

The Dark Crystal 2.

The Jim Henson Company has picked Genndy Tartakovsky to direct the new movie , Power of the Dark Crystal, which is the sequel to 1982s Dark Crystal. The movie will be a mix of CG and puppeteers like the original. The story is set 100 years after the 1st film and follows a girl made of fire who steals a shard of the crystal in hopes of reigniting the dying sun. The movie is set to start filming in late summer of this year.

Genndy Tartakovsky is the man who created Samurai Jack, Dexter's Labratory (one of my favorites) and directed and wrote the story for Star Wars : Clone Wars. The Clone Wars cartoons were a work of genius and the writing and story was better than some of the actual Star Wars movies (Ep 1, we are talking about you).

Early Oscar Picks !

I just wanted to post a few of my early Oscar picks. Maybe this year I might get a few of them right.

Best Picture : Good Night, And Good Luck (even though the Academy will pick Brokeback Mountain)

Best Director : Ang Lee

Best Actor : Philip Seymour Hoffman

Best Actress : Charlize Theron (also wins for "hottest" actress)

Supporting Actor: Jake Gyllenhaal

Supporting Actress : Frances McDormand

Best Animated Feature : Howl's Moving Castle

Best Makeup : Chronicles Of Narnia

That's just a few for right now. I know there are some choice's that many would disagree with, but that's my opinion. I can almost guarantee that Brokeback Mountain and Walk The Line will walk away with several Oscars each. Only time will tell.

Tom Cruise Running .

Look,,,here's a picture of Tom Cruise running , from the upcoming M:I 3. It wouldn't be a true Tom Cruise movie without him running away from or toward something. The guy must be in great shape. Lets take a quick look at some past movies.

M:I 1 & 2 - Running, but with great hair
War of the Worlds - running while being the worlds worst Dad.
Minority Report : running from flying guys
Far and Away : running from horses, cops, thugs and "Land"
Risky Business : running after hookers (who could blame him)
Collateral : running after Jamie Foxx
Eyes Wide Shut : running to and from naked people (if you could follow the movie)
Born on the Fourth of July : running (at least for 1/2 the movie)
Legend : running in some very short girlie pants

And coming next,,,Tom Cruise directs the remake of The Running Man.

Next Narnia Movie.

Disney has confirmed that pre-production has already begun on the next Narnia movie. The next movie will be Prince Caspian, which is the 4th book of the Narnia series. This was a good choice because the story once again revolves around the Pevensie children and their return to Narnia to assist Prince Caspian in winning Narnia's independence. Being that the story has the kids being the same age range, to use the same actors they would have to make it before the kids got any older.

Andrew Adamson is believed to be returning to direct and the movie is set for a 2007 release date.

X3 Titled!

20th Century Fox has announced that the official title to the new X-Men movie will be X-Men : The Last Stand. This looks to be the best yet of the X-movies. We have the inclusion of several new mutants including Beast, Angel, Callisto and more Colossus,(no Nightcrawler this time) also Juggernaut and some new baddies. Jean Grey returns in her Phoenix state which should make for some great character interactions. The Phoenix story was some of the best writing in the original comics so it should lend itself well to the screenplay.

In a recent interview, Vinnie Jones, who play Juggernaut said he had signed on for X-men 4 and 5. This is big news if it is true. The original cast had a 3 movie contract. Will they return for more? I know that Halle Berry was close to turning down X3 until they expanded her character. And it is unknown what Hugh Jackman will do. He is the mainstay and center-piece of all the movies. The Wolverine solo movie is set to film after X3 is released. There are tons of stories that could be adapted to the big screen, and the amount of characters they could tap is endless.
