The Jim Henson Company has picked Genndy Tartakovsky to direct the new movie , Power of the Dark Crystal, which is the sequel to 1982s Dark Crystal. The movie will be a mix of CG and puppeteers like the original. The story is set 100 years after the 1st film and follows a girl made of fire who steals a shard of the crystal in hopes of reigniting the dying sun. The movie is set to start filming in late summer of this year.Genndy Tartakovsky is the man who created Samurai Jack, Dexter's Labratory (one of my favorites) and directed and wrote the story for Star Wars : Clone Wars. The Clone Wars cartoons were a work of genius and the writing and story was better than some of the actual Star Wars movies (Ep 1, we are talking about you).
