It's A CELL call For Eli.

According to Variety, Dimension Films has nabbed the rights to Stephen King's Cell and has already set Eli Roth (Hostel/Cabin Fever) to direct. Eli sure knows how to do horror and gore, so he should have no problem with this zombie-like tale. Dimension has also grabbed the write to another King novel, 1408, and set Mikael Hafstrom to direct.

If you haven't read this book yet, well, shame on you. This is a return to the grisly, character-spanning stories that I have missed from Stephen King or the years. And you know when the book is dedicated to George Romero, that mayhem will ensue.

In a matter of minutes a strange signal over the cell phones causes anyone who was on the phone at the time become raging crazy maniacs set of blood and destruction. We follow the trials of a group of "norms" as the work their way across country in a attempt to get to a town in Maine. I don't want to give away too much story. Just pick it up and give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

I totally predicted this. No, seriously. After the first chapter, which I thought would transfer well to film, Roth was my first choice. Awesome.
