It has been officially announced that the English actor Daniel Craig has been cast as the 6th James Bond.
Craig (37) will play Bond in the upcoming Casino Royale to be directed by Martin Campbell. According to Reuters, "in typically flamboyant 007 style, Craig swept up the River Thames on a power launch to a news conference escorted by Royal Marines." Craig is actually almost a decade older than what the filmmakers had stated they were looking for in a new Bond, since Royale will be about a younger Bond on a early 00 mission.

Casino Royale? Didn't they do that one already? I have to wonder with all the books written throughout history why the film makers would ever have to repeat a film. Same thing with this Oliver film Polanski has. Dickens wrote so much that hasn't been done and we get repeats!
Isn't he also the first English actor to take the part?
he will do a great job
better than Hugh Jackman eventho he is a good actor just not James Bond
Doubters should check out the Brit gangster flick "Layer Cake", where he turned in a cool-as-ice performance. I'm not sure who elese they were talking to, but I think he's a very interesting choice.
By the way, the previous "Casino Royale" was a parody of the genre, not a bona-fide Bond movie.
